Our large mungy is handmade in iron, the model is very typical of Viking time and early medieval times. The size is slightly larger than the most common findings. This provides a more easily played mungy and a darker tone with longer vibration. Mungigan is one of the world’s oldest instruments and has spread across almost the world in various vintages. Mungigan came from Asia to Europe during the Iron Age/Early Middle Ages. Gotland has found a mungy in bronze from the Iron Age.
