Viking sax, British Isles. Decorative

 This hand-forged seax or sax was one of the west-faring Vikings' favorite weapons and features a triangular blade shape. The model is based on British finds of this type of long single-edged combat knife. Hilt (grip) in polished ash. Bolster, pommel, and ring in brass. Please note that this product refers only to the knife without a sheath.

The blade is hand-forged in high-carbon steel and oil-tempered. The blade is marked with the Nordlys™ "smith's mark" so you can be sure the sax comes from our forge. 

Please note that the blade on this model is delivered tempered and semi-sharp; the blade can also be sharpened. The model is therefore intended for collectors only and for decorative or ceremonial use. We do not recommend that this model be used for historical combat.
