Nordlys Viking
Double bracelets in brass with half gemstones.
All our bracelets are free from nickel and cadmium. They are handmade and feature a genuine semi-precious stone.
Since all the stones are genuine, they vary slightly in color, pattern, and sheen.
Brass is a soft metal that makes it easy to adjust the bracelet to any wrist.
Brass was a commonly used metal during the Viking Age. It held the same value as bronze, and the two metals were often not even distinguished in language—both were simply called Gelb.
The Vikings were not skilled chemists, so the exact same jewellery was made of bronze in some places and brass in others.
Jewellery with set stones has been found in Viking-age graves, though most were not made in Scandinavia but brought back from the East. This style of bracelet design is common in Byzantine jewellery from the Viking Age.
